Diet: Skin creams - avoiding lanolin

Should adult Refsum's patients avoid skin creams containing lanolin?

Lanolin is a fat obtained from sheep's wool. We know that some drugs and other substances can be absorbed into the body through the skin. It would therefore seem sensible to avoid skin preparations containing lanolin as far as it is practically possible. Many products do now state on the label if lanolin is present.
